The Centre for Alumni Relations and Corporate Affairs (CARCA) serves as the unified hub for fostering meaningful engagement between alumni, industry, and Anna University.
The four campuses of the University—the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), established in 1794; the Alagappa College of Technology (ACT), founded in 1944; the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1949; and the School of Architecture and Planning (SAP), founded in 1957—have together produced generations of world-class engineers, technologists, and innovators who have made remarkable contributions to industry and society.
Recognizing the need for a consolidated alumni centre representing all four campuses, the Centre for Alumni Affairs was established in December 2019 with Syndicate approval (Resolution No. 255 dated 09.10.2019).
To further broaden its scope and strengthen industry collaboration, the Centre was renamed as the Centre for Alumni Relations and Corporate Affairs (CARCA) (vide Syndicate Resolution No. 264 dated 28.02.2022).
CARCA functions as an Autonomous Centre under Anna University, headed by a Director appointed by the Registrar. Since its inception, CARCA has:
